Ben Douglass brings with him a lifelong connection to Northern Nevada and a deep respect for the men and women who serve our country. As General Manager of Legends Bay Casino in Sparks, Ben combines leadership experience with a strong sense of community responsibility to help further the mission of the Plaza. 

Born and raised in Reno, Ben is a proud graduate of Bishop Manogue Catholic High School and earned his degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. He believes deeply that honoring veterans means more than building monuments—it means standing by them when they return home. 

Ben is especially focused on how our communities treat veterans as they transition back to civilian life. He advocates for ensuring that returning service members are met with dignity, opportunity, and the full measure of support they’ve earned—from employment and housing to healthcare and reintegration resources. 

Ben is honored to help lead efforts to create a lasting tribute through the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza, a place where nearly 900 fallen Nevadans will be remembered and where future generations can learn the value of service and sacrifice. His role on the Board reflects his belief that remembrance is powerful, but so is action, and that both are essential to truly supporting our veterans.
