Join us for an inspiring day of music, patriotism, and purpose as we launch our fundraiser dedicated to supporting our nation’s heroes. “Stars, Stripes & Song: A Day to Remember” brings the community together to honor veterans, by supporting the memorial!
PTSD Awareness Day
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that affects many veterans—and civilians as well. PTSD can develop after someone experiences or witnesses a traumatic event, such as combat, training accidents, or military sexual trauma. Although the condition is now widely recognized, it was not always well understood by the medical or military communities.
In the aftermath of World War II, the Vietnam War, and other major conflicts, veterans often exhibited symptoms we now associate with PTSD, but at the time, these were referred to as "shell shock" or "combat fatigue." Department of Defense press releases and historical reviews have acknowledged these early cases as important steps in recognizing and understanding PTSD. Ongoing research continues to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and support for those suffering from the psychological wounds of war.

VFW Post 3396 Day of Service
The VFW Silver State Post 3396 along with its partners in the community will take time to do some maintenance and cleaning in and around the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza.
Blue Star Mothers of America, Spanish Springs Chapter NV5
The Blue Star Mothers of Spanish Springs will be at the memorial again as part of their Care Package Fundraising Campaign for 2025 at the memorial, and they need your support!
All funds raised at this event will be used to prepare Care Packages for Nevada's currently deployed servicemen and women.
Stop by the memorial to help them reach their goal!
**Goals**
They are looking to send over 200 Care Packages
The estimated shipping costs will be between $3,500 and $4,500.
They are seeking donations for the contents of the boxes.
You can also contribute by purchasing items through our Amazon Wish List (Amazon Wish List).
