Nicole Hardeman-Swindle
Nicole Hardeman-Swindle is a dedicated U.S. Navy veteran with 15 years of military service, including 10 years on active duty and 5 years in the reserves. She currently serves as an Executive Grants Analyst and Public Information Officer for the State of Nevada, where she supports statewide efforts to secure, manage, and communicate federal funding that directly benefits Nevada’s communities. In this dual role, she provides technical grant support, strengthens compliance and coordination across agencies, and leads strategic communications, stakeholder outreach, and public engagement related to federal assistance.
Previously, Nicole served as the Lead Military and Family Readiness Specialist for the Nevada Army National Guard, where she played a critical role in supporting service members and their families by connecting them to essential resources and helping them navigate the unique challenges of military life. This experience continues to inform her commitment to service, advocacy, and community-focused leadership.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Nicole remains deeply engaged in the veteran and military community. She is actively involved with organizations such as the American Legion and the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and she contributes her time and expertise through service on several military and National Guard–related boards.
Nicole’s desire to serve as a Board Member of the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza is rooted in her deep respect for the sacrifices made by servicemen and women and their families. Having experienced military life firsthand, she understands the importance of preserving those stories and honoring that legacy. She views the Plaza not only as a place of remembrance, but also as a vital educational and community space—one that fosters reflection, connection, and understanding for future generations.
Nicole believes the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza has the power to inspire pride, promote healing, and deepen public awareness of the true cost of freedom. She would be honored to contribute her leadership, lived experience, and passion for service to advance the Plaza’s mission and ensure it remains a meaningful and enduring tribute to Nevada’s veterans.
